Seventeen of our students expressed a desire to gain employment over the holiday period in December, and the Lord provided 17 jobs! We secured a variety of jobs in a local car wash, at the Wimpy fast food and Primi Piati a new pizzeria in town. As it turned out some of the players were not too keen on the real work environment! However they all gained experience in going through the interview process and learnt the discipline of turning up on time for work, commitment and consequences of actions!
Some highlights of the season are that two of our young people have been kept on a part-time basis as staff at Wimpy (George Junior and Spoony), and Luvi one of our senior footballers who has expressed a desire to go to University for Sports Management, gained a job at a local sports store. He has been very successful in working on the shop floor with customers and it has given him excitement and focus to finish school school this year and achieve his goals.
