However the girls were also winning off court, as they succeeded to break down barriers of self consciousness and get not only pupils up to try some Africa dance moves but also teachers from the various schools we got to spend time with. There was a great atmosphere created, and the girls did themselves proud by engaging with the pupils, teachers, families, and young people we met along the way.

The girls were thoroughly spoiled by the Northern Irish hospitality and by many supporters who fed us, sent the girls to get their nails done, blessed us with new training gear, and enabled the girls to experience the ballet at the Grand Opera House, to get their dance groove on at the Vibe Academy and see Ulster Rugby in action to mention just a few!

On return the girls have settled back into life this side, and have been working hard for end of year exams. 3 of the girls received awards from their school recognising their sporting achievements this year.

Thank you to those who supported us, came to visit us, cheer us on while we were home. It’s a really special window for you to meet the kids and for our kids also to put a face to the support they receive. We look forward to seeing you again at some stage in the future!
