Sports Academy youth club runs every other Saturday night. It is a chance for the young people to hang out, have fun in a safe environment and to explore more about God and issues affecting our faith. It’s our hope that the young people will build relationships with each other and all the coaches and hear God’s voice for their lives.
The usual youth club involves food, games, worship, a talk and response. So far this year we have looked at God’s love, Forgiveness, Grace and choices. The topics vary from faith issues to practical issues such as relationships, drugs and alcohol and peer pressure as well as fun days and nights. We been on a trip to the Strawberry farm which has the biggest hedge maze in the Southern Hemisphere and took 2 hours for the young people to complete.
The most recent youth club was a make your own pizza and cinema night which all the young people loved. After making a mess with the pizzas we watched the Blindside in the specially decorated SAG cinema.
Our next youth club is an Easter special at the local botanical gardens playing games outside, getting food an talking about the story of Christ.
